Your RArarawr experience is not worth discussing. A hammer warrior with defensive stances should stick to naked frenzy-wanding for his purpose is to deal damage and not tank. Even in PvE you never need to tank except for those poorly designed elite-missions.
Warriors should be offensive. If you need protection against rangers and sins, ask your monk.
